The original idea did not include the roots of the "tree". Such is the way things go when you let the art tell you what to do. To me it now seems almost as if the beauty of the tree and its roots has infested the skull, into the brain. As if it has become a spreading cancer of dark and beautiful. Face down in the dirt. vARTmuffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06183876431824916863noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4579951115335686895.post-79599828904836094342008-02-18T21:59:00.003-05:002008-02-18T22:04:01.905-05:00Inking with Flash, Lesson 1I made a couple of videos for those of you out there that might want to learn how to use Flash for your vector drawings. It's a great way to get a cool comic style of line while keeping the file in vector format. I hope it helps you out.

You can actually see both of the videos at a fat and juicy 640 x 480 resolution on my website, here's that link too: http://www.artmuffin.com/flash

ARTmuffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06183876431824916863noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4579951115335686895.post-32287701551168297492007-11-21T22:10:00.000-05:002007-11-21T22:12:41.871-05:00Ultra Hyper Mega

This was fun to draw and ink. Going with my Naked Lunch inspired fascination of bugs and psychedelia while focusing on horror and the macabre I whipped up this little doozy. I'm not really sure what else to say about this one. I'd like to think it speaks for itself but somehow I know that many people will get different ideas from it. And that's ok. That's part of what makes art yours. You bring some of yourself to the image. I provide a vehicle, you get in and drive.

Ninth in the "13 Days of Horror" series. I had several ideas that came to mind when I first read the word "scale". This seemed to bring a lot of those ideas together. Not only do we have the scale as a device for weighing things but we also have the scale of the universe. A scale that shows us how tiny we might be. A scale that might show us that in such a large universe there are things everywhere that are worried about their weight...even in zero gravity. But then again, in the "grand scale" of things, maybe none of that really matters....

This is pen and ink on bristol
9" x 9"ARTmuffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06183876431824916863noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4579951115335686895.post-28505032763428160482007-11-10T13:50:00.001-05:002007-11-12T19:49:32.280-05:00Kitty Smoke
A drawing I did this morning for some friends.
